At its July 11th, 2017 meeting the Rotary Club of Bowmanville was pleased to present bursaries to eight accomplished and deserving Clarington students who were either continuing their post secondary studies or were entering their first year of post secondary education.
 
Continuing their studies and receiving the second installment of $1,000 of a $2,000 award were:
 
Brittany Foster - Brittany was a student at Clarington Central Secondary School in Bowmanville.  She is now entering her second year at Trent University where she is studying psychology.
 
Rachel Witvoet - Rachel went to Bowmanville's Durham Christian High School.  She is now entering her second year of business studies at Redeemer University College.
 
Shelby Ravary - Shelby is a graduate from St. Stephen Catholic Secondary School in Bowmanville.  She is about to begin her second year of medicine related studies at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
 
Carly Dianne Chisholm - Carly attended Clarke High School in Newcastle.  She is now ready to begin her second year at Durham College where she is studying biotechnology.
 
This year the Rotary Club revised its bursary program.  It now awards $2,000 to students entering their first year of college or university.  Receiving these awards were:
 
Kaitlin Prodanovic-Wilcox - a graduate of St. Stephen Catholic Secondary School, Kaitlin will be attending McMaster University in the fall where she intends to study biotechnology.
 
Bailey Elliott - Bailey graduated from Clarke High School.  This fall she will be studying global law and social justice at Carleton University in Ottawa.
 
Jonathan Feddema - Jonathan is a Durham Christian High School graduate.  With a passion for sports, Jonathan will be studying human kinetics at the University of Ottawa in the fall.
 
Natassja Canonico - Natassja is a graduate of Clarington Central Secondary School.  This fall she will be attending the University of British Columbia where she is enrolled in a computer science program.
 
The Rotary Club of Bowmanville is honoured to be able to support such talented and deserving youth in this important step in their lives and academic careers.  We wish them every success in their future endeavours.
