Ron Dick, President of the Rotary Club of Oshawa has been working diligently for many months to encourage the Rotary Clubs of Durham Region and beyond to make their donations and pledges so that the new Golbal Classroom may be named the Rotary Global Classroom.
The Rotary Club of Oshawa is asking all 10 Rotary Clubs in Durham Region plus the Rotary Club of Port Hope to cancel their weekly meeting this week and instead to attend, with their spouses, this World Polio Day Event in the new Global Classroom in the new Centre for Collaborative Education building at Durham College.

Help us feed our hungry neighbours! Join us for a wonderful afternoon or evening concert featuring a fabulous line-up of award-winning musicians from across the Region all in support of Feed the Need in Durham!
Feed the Need in Durham is the only regional distribution hub for emergency food providers in Durham Region. They collect, store, and distribute fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food to sixty-two member agencies. Their members include food banks, soup kitchens, meal programs, in-school nutrition programs, and social service agencies.

2019 Ontario ParaSport Games in Durham

Don Terry and Emmy Iheme are co-chairs of the Durham Region 2019 Ontario ParaSport Games. A program of the Ontario government, the games are held every two years in different locations and feature some of the province's best para-athletes. The 2019 games involve both indoor and outdoor sports, including skiing events at Brimacombe. For more information about the Ontario ParaSport Games, please visit the website by following this link. Don Terry is a community builder, professor at Durham College and the Chair of Sport Durham.
Emmy Iheme is a former pro soccer player, member of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport and a Durham Regional police Sergeant based in Bowmanvillle.
