The annual Rotary Adventure in Citizenship Program has been a signature program of the Rotary Club of Ottawa since 1951.  Approximately 220 senior high school students from across Canada spend four days in Ottawa experiencing tours, lectures, discussions and social events designed to enhance their understanding and appreciation of Canadian citizenship.  This year the Rotary Club of Bowmanville was pleased to sponsor Bailey Elliott, who has just graduated from Clarke High School, to attend the program.  At the Club's meeting on July 18, 2017, Bailey was our guest speaker.  She spoke about her experiences with the program, the insights into our democratic institutions that the program provided her, and how it inspired her.  Bailey, who is also one of our bursary winners, will be attending Carleton University in Ottawa this fall where she is enrolled in the Global Law and Social Justice program.
